01 / THE IDEA

From timesheet to invoice

The hours are the invoice. Billable groups everything you have not billed yet by client, rolls it up by activity at that client’s rate, and hands you the invoice to check before it goes out.

02 / WHAT'S IN IT

Everything the billing week needs

Timesheet

Log hours against a client and an activity, one row per piece of work. Filter by date range, client or activity, and see at a glance which rows have already been invoiced.

Quick Invoice

Uninvoiced hours group themselves by client. Review the totals, pick the billable party, and send. The rows you just billed are marked so they cannot go out twice.

Invoice templates

Choose a template once and every invoice uses it, with your company details, terms and payment instructions already in place. No reformatting per client.

Google Sheets

Import a timesheet straight from a Sheet if that is where your hours already live, and export invoices back out to Sheets, Excel or PDF.

Clients and activities

One shared activity list keeps everyone describing the same work the same way. Rates, contacts and billing history live on the client.

Teams and permissions

Bring the rest of the firm in. Admins see and invoice everyone’s hours; members see their own. Invoices, clients and activities stay shared.

Also in the box: credits and fees on an invoice, saved credit and fee templates, accounts-receivable reports, a record of every invoice email you sent, and personal (non-billable) hours kept separate from client work.

03 / GET PAID

Invoices that get paid on time

  • Online payments by card or bank transfer

Every invoice carries a secure payment link. Clients pay by card or bank transfer, and the money lands in your own Stripe account. You choose who covers the processing fee.

  • Automatic follow-ups

Overdue invoices get a reminder email on the schedule you set. No more chasing by hand.

  • Know where every invoice stands

Sent, processing, paid or overdue, updated the moment a payment comes in.

06 / QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is Billable?

Billable is a time tracking and invoicing app for freelancers, consultants and small firms. You log billable hours against clients and activities, and Billable turns those hours into invoices you can email from the same place.

How do I track billable hours in Billable?

Add a row to the timesheet for each piece of work, with the date, client, activity and hours. If your hours already live in a spreadsheet, you can import a timesheet from Google Sheets instead of retyping it.

Can I customize my invoices?

Yes. Pick an invoice template, set your company details, terms and payment instructions in invoice settings, and every invoice you generate uses them.

Does Billable work for teams?

Yes. Invite the rest of the firm, and everyone logs time against the same shared client and activity lists. Admins can see and invoice the whole team’s hours; members see their own.

How much does Billable cost?

Every account starts with a 14-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing. After that, billed yearly, Solo is $16 a month for one person, Team is $41 a month for up to 10 people, and Firm is $166 a month for up to 25 ($19, $49 and $199 month to month). Firms with more than 25 people can get in touch for a custom plan.

Can my clients pay invoices online?

Yes. Connect a Stripe account and every invoice gets a secure payment link. Clients pay by card or bank transfer, the money goes to your Stripe account, and the invoice is marked paid on its own. You decide whether you or your client covers the processing fee.

Does Billable follow up on overdue invoices?

Yes. Turn on automatic follow-ups and Billable emails a reminder when an invoice is overdue, on the schedule you choose.

Is there a Billable mobile app for iOS or Android?

Not yet. Both are in development. Billable works in a phone browser in the meantime.
